Dark Knight + Book Binge Giveaway

Today is the day! After waiting and waiting for my husband to return to Hawaii and then for the moviegoer traffic to ease down a little, I will finally be going to see The Dark Knight. I've been real giddy about it all day, my heart is racing, I feel like a kid in a candy store, so excited!

On another cool note:

the ladies over at Book Binge are having a big giveaway. Sherilyn Kenyon's Acheron and Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer are up for grabs. Hurry over and enter!

  1. That movie looks really good. I hope you enjoyed it.

  2. I can't wait to see this one. By the time I get a chance to go, I won't have to worry about crowded theaters.

  3. Hi Kris, I did enjoy it, very much!

CJ, I'm not a fan of crowded theatres. Luckily, the one I was in wasn't full. I hope you enjoy DK when you get a chance to see it.

  4. I saw this two nights ago and I thought it was BRILLIANT! Sorry to get all upper case in my excitement, but gosh, what a shot of adrenaline.

I've been reading up on my Batman comics (so far, The Killing Joke, The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Year One... and Hush) and one of the things I love about the films Nolan has made is how they adhere to the source material. If not to the letter, then certainly in spirit.

The only problem I had with the film was the rating - far, far to violent and disturbing for a 12A (here in the UK, this means that an adult can bring a child of any age with them. So not appropriate).

  5. You know, Meriam, I didn't even think of the rating until you brought it to my attention. I just looked it up and DK is rated PG-13 in the US (parental guidance for viewers under 13). I agree, that is really young, given the level of violence in the movie.

But the movie was awesome, I loved every minute of it.

  6. Gosh, I want to see this movie SO bad...I've heard nothing but good reviews on it.
